PEP’S BORED US TO TEARS

Video sessions are turn-off for stars

PABLO ZABALETA has labelled Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola boring.

Zabaleta has revealed how Guardiola leaves some squad members bored to tears with his constant video sessions.

“His passion is to try to improve, or to try to find the right way to attack,” said Zabaleta.

“We watch a lot of videos and sometimes I know it’s a bit boring for some of the players to be watching videos every day.

“But for the players who really love football and enjoy watching... and I’m talking about 20 minutes of video, or 25 minutes, not an hour or two hours.

“He’s always trying to improve the players and to improve the team. He likes to play out from the back and for the player on the ball to have two or three options.

“He likes always to give you solutions and information. The way he prepares for games is just fantastic.”

Quitting

City face Arsenal on Sunday and Chelsea next Wednesday in the race to secure a top four finish and Champions League football.

Raheem Sterling should be fit to face the Gunners despite a knock on his ankle during England’s 2-0 win over Lithuania on Sunday.

City are ready to battle Barcelona for Southampton’s Portuguese defender Cedric Soares.

Guardiola has made signing a new right-back this summer one of his priorities and Euro 2016 winner Soares is on his wish list.

The 25-year-old is also being eyed by Guardiola’s old club Barca and has been one of Saints’ standout players this season.

City keeper Claudio Bravo insists he has no intention of quitting the club. The Chilean has been a disaster since joining from Barcelona for £14m last summer. Bravo was dropped last month but has denied he wants to leave at the end of the season.

“It’s all false, that I’m looking for another place to play and that I want to leave,” he said. “These are things that are not true. I’m happy in England.”
