A BRITISH backpacker who saw her boyfriend’s murder 16 years ago may have to relive her ordeal in court again.

Joanne Lees, 38, fled Peter Falconio’s killer by hiding in the Aussie Outback after the pair were attacked on a remote road.

Drug dealer Bradley John Murdoch, 59, is serving a life sentence after being convicted of the 2001 murder.

But now lawyers acting for him believe they have enough ® evidence to force a retrial and prove Murdoch is innocent. If it goes ahead, Joanne – who gave lengthy evidence at the 2005 trial – could be recalled to the witness box. Peter’s body has never been found but his DNA was found on parts of Murdoch’s clothing. Without a retrail Murdoch will never be freed under the the Northern Territory’s “no body, no parole” laws.
