FOR pre-schoolers, there’s nothing more exciting than meeting their favourite TV characters – and at Alton Towers’ CBeebies Land they can do just that.

We visited the Staffordshire theme park for the opening of two new attractions – The Furchester Hotel Live show and Go Jetters Vroomster Zoom ride.

The Furchester Hotel TV Show is a kind of modern mash-up of The Muppets and Sesame Street, with new characters and well-known stars Cookie Monster and Elmo. The new interactive live show invites around 30 visitors at a time to the hotel’s reception while the puppets – helped by a human bellboy – act out a 15-minute episode.

Kids get to become part of the story themselves.

Helping Cookie Monster find his “emergency cookies” hidden all around the room was a particular highlight.

Meanwhile, on the Go Jetters Vroomster Ride, youngsters get to sit on a replica of the vehicle featured in the show while it spins like a merry-go-round.

The new attractions add to what is already a paradise for children at CBeebies Land.

They love riding Iggle Piggle’s vessel on the In The Night Garden Magical Boat Ride, driving Postman Pat’s little red van as well as popping round to Charlie and Lola’s house. Plus, later this year, visitors can even stay the night at CBeebies Land when its themed hotel opens in July.

Admission to Alton Towers, including CBeebies Land, starts from £27.50 when booking online more than five days in advance.

Hotel stays cost from £135 per room, B&B, based on a family of four sharing.
