DIVOCK ORIGI is ready to step up and prove he’s not just one for the future.

The Liverpool forward will get his chance to show what he can do with Sadio Mane set to miss tomorrow’s clash against Bournemouth at Anfield.

Mane picked up a knee injury in the 3-1 win over Everton on Saturday, with Origi coming off the bench to score the third.

But now the Belgium ace is out to show Kop boss Jurgen Klopp he can be a star from the start rather than a super sub.

He said: “I’ve always said that I’m ready to be an important player for the team.

“I’m not just an option for the future, I’m an option for now. I want to do everything to get in the team.

“The coach has several choices and that is only good for the team. Like I said, the team is most important and we have to finish strong. I hope I can play a big part in the end of the season.

Leader

“I’m very ambitious and I believe in my qualities. But you have to put everything in and show it on the pitch.

“The most important thing is to stay cool in the head and enjoy the game every time, play a part and help the team.

“You want to score, so I’m happy, but I wouldn’t say that a weight is lifted because I’m very ambitious and my goal is to be a leader in this team. I think it’s very possible.

“I won’t rest until I reach my goals and when I reach my goals, I will set other goals.”

Origi’s chances have been limited this season, but he believes he can show Klopp what he can do if Mane is out for a while.

He added: “I have to play with my qualities and I don’t think the manager knows my qualities.

“It is good to have all these talented players. We have a very good group.

“I think the main thing for me is that I can be a big option for now and then it is up to the manager to choose.”
