Adele has inspired my music

-

SOLO Harry Styles has been getting career tips from Adele.

The One Direction star unleashes debut solo single Sign Of The Times tomorrow.

And Adele is his benchmark for success.

Harry explained: “I like how she does everything.

“I’ve spoken to her a little bit, she knows one of the guys that I wrote my music with a lot.

“She leads by example, she’s the biggest, she’s amazing, she’s the best so she should be the biggest.”

Adele attended Harry’s 23rd birthday party in California earlier this year.

But it was his 21st where they bonded: “She gave me one of her albums, 21, and said: ‘I did some pretty cool stuff when I was 21, good luck’ and I was like: ‘Geez.’”

1D’s most handsome member co-hosts the Radio 1 breakfast show with Nick Grimshaw tomorrow.

On it he reveals other famous friends Chris Martin and Ed Sheeran gave pointers too. Speaking about the Coldplay man, he said: “He is good at telling you to take care of yourself.

“I think he makes sure you are all right and is very zen.”

However, he wasn’t so confident Ed liked his new tunes.

Harry spilled: “He didn’t say that he didn’t like any but he did like one song that isn’t on the album.”

But the opinions the singer cares most about are his family’s.

The lad from Cheshire revealed: “There’s one song that’s got a vocal effect on it and my stepdad said: ‘Where did you get the duck from, how did you get a duck in the studio.’ I was like: ‘That was me, thanks.’”

Harry is also feeling paternal about his debut single.

He explained: “I feel like I’ve been hibernating for so long now and now it’s time to give birth… it’s the song I’m most proud of writing.”

He started penning it in February last year and wrote 70 songs in Jamaica.

“I just wanted to not be somewhere that I’d get distracted,” he revealed. “You’d go home for dinner, write at the house, then go back to the studio.” And he’s thrilled with the end result. He said: “In the least weird way possible, it’s my favourite album to listen to at the moment.” Hear Harry premiere his single tomorrow on the Radio 1 Breakfast Show.
