There is a oo soon in the 2015-16 y champion trainer Paul 12 National with IS not an obvious one, despite his relatively low odds. The fact he is a Cheltenham specialist – he has not won elsewhere since 2013 – has to count against him. He was unplaced in the 2015 Grand National when a seven-year-old novice but is older and wiser now. He comes here on the back of a career-best nine-length success at the Cheltenham Festival, and has an undeniable each-way chance. It is the 10th anniversary of his trainer’s 2007 Grand National with Silver Birch.

A veteran chaser that is getting better with age. He is inconsistent but on his day is hard to beat at distances up to three and a quarter miles. His odds indicate that he may not have the stamina for the job in hand. He was tailed off as a novice over four miles in March 2015 but a lot of water has flowed under the bridge since and he is worth his place in the line-up. THIS veteran has recovered his form since moving to Cumbrian trainer James Moffatt. He won the Becher Chase over the Grand National fences in 2015 and was caught on the line when attempting a follow-up success in December. In between he was pulled up in the Scottish National at Ayr, a track that did not play to his strengths. He has never fallen and, back at his favourite track, has a solid each-way chance.

TRAINED by National specialist ‘Mouse’ Morris. The Irishman won last year’s Grand National with Rule The World shortly after Rogue Angel had won the Irish equivalent at Fairyhouse last March. His runner on Saturday has gone 12 months without making the first three but those runs have kept him ticking over ahead of this season’s target. He has yet to race beyond three and threequarter miles but he is one of the best options currently around 25-1.
