POOL SET TO PLAY IT COOL

- By CHRIS McKENNA

DIVOCK ORIGI insists there is no need to panic despite Liverpool’s latest slip in the race for the Champions League.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are still third despite being held to a 2-2 home draw by Bournemouth on Wednesday night.

Striker Origi said: “We have to sit down and see what went wrong and what was good and move forward, because there are still a lot of points to play for.

Strong

“The situation is not dramatic, we still have a lot to play for and we took a point.

“We just have to stay strong and next we have Stoke – a very important game – and football moves quick.”

Manchester City are just two points behind Liverpool in fourth, having played a game less, while United and Arsenal are six behind with two games in hand.

“We knew that the race would be tight but, as you’ve seen, other teams that go for the top four can drop points as well,” Origi added.

“I felt disappointment ® because we are Liverpool, we want to win every game but we still have a lot to play for.

“So, in the end, we all know that we have one goal.

“We have to move forward and make sure that the things that went less well don’t happen again and just try and take as many points as possible.”

Liverpool were missing injured stars Sadio Mane, Adam Lallana and Jordan Henderson, while Philippe Coutinho went off feeling ill.

Defender Joel Matip also missed the game with a back problem, opening the door for Ragnar Klavan to step in.

“This is also the reason I believe we can finish in the top four because of the team spirit,” said the Estonia international.

“We know we have had bad luck this season with injuries and stuff but we keep on fighting with the team spirit.”

Liverpool are weighing up a lucrative offer to play an end-of-season friendly in Sydney, Australia, next month.
