TRUMP NEW WORD WAR
DONALD Trump branded North Korea “troublemakers” last night.
Tyrant Kim Jong-un is believed to be plotting a sixth test of his nuclear weapons this weekend.
The US Navy sent a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier near Korean waters as tensions between the two nations reach boiling point.
And President Trump stoked up the rhetoric by threatening its allies China.
He tweeted: “I explained to the President of China that a trade deal with the US will be far better for them if they solve the North Korean problem!
“North Korea are looking for trouble. If China decides to help, that would be great. If not, we will solve the problem without them!”
In North Korea, the foreign ministry said the US navy’s plan showed that “reckless moves for invading had reached a serious phase”. Meanwhile, the country’s Rodong Sinmun newspaper said Kim’s army was prepared to strike back against the US. It warned: “Our revolutionary-strong army is keenly watching every move by enemy elements with our nuclear sight focused on the US invasionary bases not only in South Korea and the Pacific operation theatre but also in the US mainland.” South Korea also warned of “greater provocations” by Kim. The regime often marks milestone dates with nuke tests and Saturday is the 105th anniversary of the birth of Kim Il Sung, the country’s founding father and the current leader’s grandfather. nadeem.badshah@dailystar.co.uk
