PICS BUT PAEDO GOES FREE
Perv’s baby torture snaps
A PERVERT caught with a sickening haul of child pornography has dodged a jail sentence.
David Carey, 34, had 9,000 images, including pictures showing the “abuse and torture of babies”.
Police found illegal photos and videos on his laptop and two mobile phones during a raid in February on the home he shares with his mother.
Disgusting
He admitted 13 offences, including downloading, possessing and distributing indecent pictures and clips of youngsters. Hundreds were classed as category A, the most serious.
One offence involved possessing extreme pornographic images, involving sex with an animal, while another was for possessing an indecent cartoon.
Newcastle Crown Court heard Carey had watched adult pornography on the internet but then moved on to viewing vile images of youngsters. But he was spared jail after a judge said he was “an isolated figure who never had a relationship with anybody other than his mum”.
Recorder Andrew Dallas imposed a two-year jail sentence, suspended for two years, saying there was a “very low risk” Carey would re-offend.
He added: “I accept you drifted into this offending through adult pornography, which turned into this disgusting pornography, including the abuse and torture of babies.
“But people like you perpetrate the abuse of children by encouraging others to commit abuse, photograph it and put it on the internet.”
Carey was ordered to complete a sex offenders’ programme and will be supervised for two years.
A 10-year sexual harm prevention order was also imposed and Carey of Longbenton, North Tyneside, must tell police if he changes address.
