TRUMP: ARMADA THAN YOU!
US fleet is sent to warn Kim
DONALD Trump sent an “armada” to the western Pacific last night.
The US President ordered the fleet to converge on waters near North Korea.
His show of strength came after leader Kim Jong-un threatened nuclear war when Trump positioned an aircraft carrier close by.
Trump warned: “We are sending an armada. Very powerful.
“We have submarines. Very powerful. Far more powerful than the aircraft carrier. That I can tell you.”
Trump urged China to do more to deter North Korea’s nuke tests and put out a tweet saying the US would “solve the problem” with or without Beijing’s help.
Referring to North Korea’s leader Kim, who regularly vows to destroy South Korea and the US, Trump said: “He is doing the wrong thing.” When asked if he
thought Kim was mentally fit, Trump replied: “I don’t know. I don’t know him.”
The US “armada” consisted of nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson, two destroyers and a cruiser.
But American Defence Secretary Jim Mattis said: “She is just on her way up there because that is where we thought it was most prudent to have her at this time.”
Trump now faces confrontations on three fronts after his missile strikes on a Syrian airfield in response to chemical attacks brought condemnation from Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad and Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
Meanwhile, White House spokesman Sean Spicer had to apologise yesterday over his comments that Hitler did not use chemical weapons, despite millions of Jews being sent to the gas chambers.
Mr Spicer said: “On both a personal level and a professional level that will definitely go down as not a very good day in my history.”
