BROUGH IN BIN BOTHER

- Yp ALC@< JKFKK

DANNY BROUGH talked the Giants into trouble to leave them floundering near the foot of the table.

Tenth-placed Huddersfield were well in the game at half-time, just two points adrift.

But half-back Brough gave them an uphill battle after disputing a 49th-minute try by Richie Myler.

Brough was sin-binned for dissent as Luke Walsh lined up his conversion and the Dragons smelled blood.

Vincent Duport then raced in for another try while Brough was off the field to make it 24-10.

Brough then disastrously added to the Giants’ problems within a minute of returning to the action.

An awful pass in his own 20-metre area went straight to Catalans half-back Walsh who made no mistake with the try. The 16-point tally in 12 minutes was too much for a Giants side low on confidence.

They have now failed to win in seven games and this was their fourth home loss of the season.

They started well with an Aaron Murphy try after Darnell McIntosh palmed back a Brough kick.

Broken

Tony Gigot scored a beauty for the visitors, who move up to seventh, but Huddersfield struck back, with full-back Jake Mamo marking his debut with a try. The ex-Newcastle Knights player, who suffered a broken ankle seven months ago, looks a decent signing.

But he needs more support from a side who, at this rate, are heading for a second successive relegation battle.

Brayden Wiliame finished off a break by Myler to put Catalans ahead at the break and they then took control with their three-try purple patch.

Jermaine McGillvary and Sam Wood scored late tries for Giants with Catalans landing a Gigot drop goal.
