MADDIE: ‘MI5 HID HER BODY’
Ex-police chief’s bizarre cover-up claims
BRITAIN’S Secret Service MI5 secretly hid the body of Madeleine McCann, claims the controversial cop who led the hunt for the missing child.
Portuguese ex detective Goncalo Amaral bizarrely said spies stitched him up over the investigation.
In a sensational new telly documentary, Amaral also said that Maddie is dead.
THE ex detective who led the hunt for Madeleine McCann last night bizarrely claimed MI5 hid her body.
Portuguese investigator Goncalo Amaral shocked viewers with the allegation in an Australian TV documentary.
Amaral suggested the UK secret service “for sure had an involvement” after the toddler disappeared from her holiday apartment while in Portugal with her parents Kate and Gerry.
He said Madeleine was dead.
And he thinks MI5 knew exactly where her body was and used an elaborate series of ruses to hide the truth from the world.
He offered no evidence to the show.
Asked if he honestly believed the British government would have ordered their own agents to cover up the murder of a child, he said: “Well I’m not British so I can’t really answer that.”
A spokesman for the Home Office last night said: “MI5 wouldn’t comment on this.”
The documentary comes almost 10 years since threeyear-old ® Madeleine went missing.
A spokesman for the McCanns last night dismissed the entire Aussie documentary.
He said “there was nothing new at all in the Seven Network piece”.
He added that there “will be no comment from Kate and Gerry whatsoever.
“The interview with them that was carried in the programme was also some six years old, so it was in a highly misleading way.”
There is no suggestion the McCanns had anything to do with Maddie’s disappearance or any cover-up.
