COMIC Peter Kay has been using the red Fiat from his BBC One show to run real-life errands such as picking up his kids, popping to the pub and nipping home to the loo!
Peter – who has three children – tells TV Times: “We stopped off at a Toby Carvery for lunch and did the school run once.
“We had a childcare issue one day so we went to pick up the kids in the Fiat and took them to my mum’s.
“We dragged the entire crew along, but that’s the joy of Car Share – you’re travelling with a convoy of vehicles so you can make a diversion for childcare purposes or shopping needs.
“We also tried to shoot the majority of the series within a three-or four-mile radius of my house – for toilet reasons.” IT seems there just aren’t enough animals to go around when filming out on the Greek island of Corfu.
The star of Sunday night’s launch episode – which drew an audience of six million – was the otter!
But the furry beast had its work cut out.
ITV bosses were only allowed to have one for filming so it had to double up and play all the otters throughout the new series of The Durrells.
Actress Keeley Hawes admitted: “We have an otter this year. It’s one, playing lots of otters.”
Co-star Milo Parker was nervous about filming with it and he admitted: “I got bitten on the knee but it wasn’t that bad.” ITV has ordered 60 new episodes of Warwick Davis’ team game show Tenable.
