NATIONAL CARD ‘CON’ SCANDAL

Punters shell out but jackpot gone Emma troll fears

- By JERRY LAWTON jerry.lawton@dailystar.co.uk

LOTTERY punters are splashing out on Scratchcards unaware the top prizes have already been claimed.

Gamblers pay up to £10 for cards without realising the jackpot is often no longer available.

Lotto chiefs have to reveal on their websites how many “top prizes” are left to be won in each game, but they do not have to list the size of the cash pots still up for grabs.

Many Scratchcard buys are on impulse and people do not check to see if they are wasting their cash gambling for a fortune which has already been won.

Earlier this week the National Lottery website revealed there were no remaining £250,000 cash prizes on the £3 Super 7s or £100,000 prizes on the £2 Cash Drop. The £70,000 jackpot on the £2 Doubler Bluer had also been paid out, and the four £1million prizes for Santa’s Millions at a fiver each had all gone. ACTRESS Emma Watson refuses to read social media comments for the sake of her sanity.

The Harry Potter star, 27, who plays the lead role in new film The Circle, was targeted by trolls after the death of Alan Rickman, who played Severus Snape in the Potter movies.

Emma explained: “For my WON ALREADY: Super 7s top prize sanity, I just cannot even go there. I have to create some distance because I am human.

“I think there’s this way where technology can dehumanise and it’s like they are saying something about someone who isn’t there.

“But I am there and I am real so I have to create some distance.”

?? ?? Of the 16 £250,000 payouts for the £250,000 Red cards, just one was left to win for the £2 stake. There was also just one £1m prize out of seven left to scoop on a £5 card called the £100 Million Cash Spectacular.
