MY girlfriend and I haven’t had sex once this year.

We’re now headed into the summer and I am going insane with sexual frustration.

The last time she deigned to get naked with me was on Christmas Eve. I got full sex and a few “extras” for a treat, but she’s not been near me since.

On January 1 she declared that she was going to get fit and change her body. Since then she’s become something of a health nut.

When she’s not training in the gym, she’s swimming or taking a Pilates class too. Consequently, she comes home exhausted and is always too tired for love.

I can’t deny that she looks amazing, but the physical side of our relationship is dead.

I feel she should spread her energy about and save more time for workouts on me. PRESS 1 for GENERAL COUNSELLING for all personal and relationship difficulties PRESS 2 for SEXUAL GUIDANCE for all men’s and women’s intimate problems I find it insulting that she’d rather sweat it out at a Salsa class than come home and enjoy an early night.

She accuses me of being unreasonable and sex mad. Am I?

JANE SAYS: Is it possible that your girlfriend is actively trying to avoid you?

It sounds as if she’s doing everything in her power to stay away from your home – and your bed – for as long as possible.

Clearly the two of you need to get back to basics and start again. Insist that you sit down together and thrash this out. Point out that you need love, time and affection.

I accept that exercising can become addictive, but what is she running from?

If she finds fault with your love-making technique, then suggest she takes the lead and puts things right. What does she want from you?

Ultimately, however, make it clear that you won’t put up with a part-time partner for much longer.
