KLOPP: WE GOT BOTTLE

- by IAN WHITTELL

JURGEN KLOPP insists his Liverpool stars have the bottle for a Champions League battle.

The fight for a top-four finish couldn’t be closer with Liverpool level on points with Manchester City and just one ahead of Manchester United.

Last weekend’s shock defeat to relegationthreatened Crystal Palace suggested Liverpool are starting to get nervous. But Kop boss Klopp

(below) said: “No, I didn’t feel anything like this in the last few weeks.

“It is easy mathematics to know what points the other teams can get, but they play against each other and all that stuff.

“No team of the teams we fight with for the top four can win all the games. They play in a few moments against each other.

“Why should we think about it too much. I do not feel fear, not one second so far.”

Liverpool travel to Watford tonight having thrashed them 6-1 earlier in the season.

But last season’s trip to Vicarage Road was one of the low points of Klopp’s first season in charge as his side were bullied to a 3-0 defeat. “We had a good Christmas party afterwards, that’s what I remember,” said Klopp. “I can’t remember what I felt after that game. “I’m not sure if it was the worst game but it was very bad. I don’t have too many memories of that game so it doesn’t make sense to prepare now with that in mind. “Watford are different since then, they have a different manager and different players, and we are different since then too.You can’t compare. “Watford are a physical team with a lot of tall players so we have to deal with throw-ins and all that stuff.” Klopp could welcome back influential midfielder Adam Lallana, who is in contention after a month out with a groin injury. Striker Daniel Sturridge is also back in the squad after missing the Palace game.
