Foxes Eldin out for keeper

LEICESTER want Hull’s Eldin Jakupovic to replace Kasper Schmeichel this summer.

But they face a battle with Crystal Palace and Watford.

Jakupovic, 32, has been impressive since Marco Silva took over the Tigers.

Leicester are favourites to land the keeper, whether or not Hull stay up.

The Foxes are looking for a replacemen­t for Schmeichel, who is expected to quit at the end of the season.

Schmeichel has been linked with Manchester United and Manchester City, and is also on Everton’s radar.

Leicester boss Craig Shakespear­e is planning a £4m swoop for Jakupovic if he does jump ship. Jakupovic’s contract runs out in June next year, but the feeling is Hull would not stand in his way.

Tigers boss Silva has also been linked with a move to take over from Nuno Espirito Santo at Porto.

Silva has been touted for the job four times in three years.

The 39-year-old has an option to quit Hull at the end of this season, no matter what division they are in.

The Hornets played with five at the back against Liverpool but lost 1-0 to an Emre Can wonder goal.

Under-fire boss Mazzarri has taken some stick from fans for being too defensive.

But full-back Janmaat said: “Against a side like Liverpool you defend more than you attack.

“They are a quality team which force you back, and that is normal. You want to attack but that is not always possible.”

Watford almost snatched a point in a frantic finale when they threw caution to the wind and hit the crossbar through Sebastian Prodl.
