Junior will do the business

-

JUNIOR DOS SANTOS is determined to prove he is the best heavyweight in the business by regaining the title on Saturday.

He tackles champion Stipe Miocic at UFC 211 in Dallas and has no doubts about the outcome, saying: “I’ll finish him before the end of the second round.”

The 33-year-old Brazilian is a former heavyweight belt holder, knocking out Cain Velasquez in just 64 seconds in November 2011 to lift the title.

He lost it to Velasquez after one successful defence against Frank Mir, but now says he is ready to claim it once again.

“I believe that I am the real No.1 in this division,” said Dos Santos. “I know that I deserve to be champion again.

“That message comes over loud and clear every time I sit down and look at this whole division. It’s my time now.

“There’s nowhere anyone can hide from me. I’m going to find you and I’m going to beat you.” Dos Santos (inset) has beaten 34-year-old Miocic before, gaining a unanimous points win over the American in 2014. He added: “He hits very hard and has good boxing and wrestling skills but I know I can win.” Miocic goes into the fight on the back of four straight wins and puts his success down to his continuing love affair with the world of MMA. He has only lost two of his 18 fights and said: “I am still loving it, having fun and loving life. You just can’t beat it. “I love getting that ‘W’ for win next to my name and getting your arm raised in victory, especially if you then get a belt wrapped around your waist. “I love being champ and people calling me champ. “I love it so much that nothing is going to change.”
