Harry’s on high

- By DAVID WOODS

® HARRY KANE claims Tottenham are now one of the best teams in the world – and will only get better.

The Spurs striker said: “We’ve got a very bright future, a great squad, a team that’s hungry to win and learn and get better.

“There’s not many better teams to be at around the

world at the moment. Of course there’s going to be transfer rumours over the summer, but I I’d be very surprised if most of us are not still here next season.

“We work so hard as a group, the staff, the manager – we’re a family on and off the pitch.”

Kane said he had been thrilled to bag the winner in the final game at Tottenham’s home for the last 118 years.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side played their last game at White Hart Lane on Sunday, beating Manchester United 2-1 on an emotional day to wrap up second place in the Premier League behind Chelsea.

It also meant Spurs finished the season unbeaten at home.

“For it to happen how it did is just a dream come true,” added 23-year-old Kane.

“It was a perfect way walking around at the end with the families and everything – it just shows what this club’s like. It is sad to see White Hart Lane go, it has been an amazing stadium for us, especially this season being unbeaten.”

The England striker reckons Spurs can get even better when they move to their temporary home at Wembley.

Better

The club are building a new £800m ground next to White Hart Lane, so have to go to the national stadium next season.

They lost two and drew one of their four ‘home’ games in Europe this season at Wembley – but that does not worry Kane.

He said: “We are going into bigger and better things now, and the new stadium is going to be unbelievable.

“That’s got to be the next step, lifting the trophy and having celebrations like on Sunday but with a title or a cup.

“It was special out there after the final match, but imagine what it would be like winning a Premier League, or winning an FA Cup or a Champions League or something.”

Kane, though, claims Spurs will not suffer like West Ham have at their new ground, the Olympic Stadium.

The Hammers have dropped 32 points at home this season compared to Tottenham’s four. Kane, whose goal against United was his 28th goal of the season, said: “I think we play a different style to West Ham.

“When we’re out there, we’re going to try and play exciting football, press high like we do here and that should get the crowd on their feet.

“The crowd have always been good, even in the Champions League when we played at Wembley the crowd were fantastic. It was just our performances on them days that were not great.

“I am not too worried about it and I don’t think the other players are too worried.”
