DETECTIVES are focusing on the final tweet of tragic teen Megan Bannister which claimed she was being “taken for a mug”.

A murder probe was launched after Megan’s body was found in a crashed car but her injuries were “not consistent” with a collision.

The first pictures emerged of the “gorgeous” 16-year-old last night amid claims the accident was an attempt to hide her killing.

Two men, aged 27 and 28, have now been arrested and are being quizzed on suspicion of murder.

Megan’s last tweet is at the centre of the investigation amid fears she was in an argument with someone.

Writing on March 4, she said: “Another person to take me for a mug.”

Broken

Last October, she wrote: “My life is so emotionally unstable like stop.”

Last night the schoolgirl’s devastated family said their “hearts have been utterly broken”.

They added: “Life without Megan is impossible to imagine.

“We cannot adequately express the numbness and overwhelming grief we feel.”

The body was discovered in a black Vauxhall Astra in Enderby, Leics, on Sunday morning.

It had crashed into a ® motorbike, leaving the rider fighting for life.

A police spokesman said: “Further tests are being conducted to find out exactly how Megan died.

“Her death is not believed to have been the result of a collision.”

Megan was due to take her first GCSE yesterday and dreamed of becoming a midwife.

Teachers at Wigston College said in a statement: “Megan was popular and had a wide range of friends.

“She liked people and they liked her and this is how we will remember her.”

Best pal Olivia Grace tweeted yesterday: “Absolutely broken, I will miss you so much gorgeous. Cannot believe this has happened.”
