WHEN did dating become so soulless and nasty?

I’m single again for the first time in eight years. My last three suitors (found on the internet) were so vile I ran away in tears.

One told me that I was too fat, spotty and flat chested.

Another said I was boring because I didn’t laugh at his disgusting jokes and the third asked to borrow £50 within 10 minutes of me buying him a cocktail.

I’ve had men demanding kinky sex and threesomes. There just doesn’t seem to be any fun or respect out there anymore.

My ex-partner was an okay person. We split because we became bored with each other.

But looking back, he was actually the find of the century. I’d go back to him if I could.

JANE SAYS: Internet dating is tough. It works for some people but it can be ruthless and soul-destroying.

In these days of instant gratification certain individuals can’t be bothered to flirt, seduce or work towards a meaningful relationship.

But that doesn’t mean you have to give up on your standards, dreams and aspirations.

Remember, if you don’t like the way things are headed in a situation, then get out.

Perhaps you should ask friends and colleagues for personal introductions too. What about dancing, singing or acting groups for confidence building and making friends?
