WARREN SLAMS LICENCE HOLD-UP

TYSON FURY could have to wait until October to find out the result of his doping hearing.
Now promoter Frank Warren wants the government to intervene.
The former world heavyweight champion – and his cousin Hughie, a top contender – were called before UK Anti-Doping after traces of the anabolic steroid nandralone were found in their 2015 blood tests.
But the hearing was postponed last week due to a reported conflict of interest for one of the members on the panel.
Fury had planned to return to the ring on July 8 at the Copper Box Arena before targeting a crack at IBF and WBA champion Anthony Joshua in the next 12 months.
Problem
Warren said: “If they carry on with the case then it won’t be heard again until October, which is a liberty. “That can’t be right. The man’s got a living to get and this thing took place in 2015. It’s disgraceful. “You’ve either got a case or you haven’t got a case. I think they’ve got a problem. “He’s 28 years of age. Boxing is a young man’s game, he’s entitled to make a living. “Somebody’s got to intervene, even if it’s the Minister for Sport. This can’t be right.” The British Boxing Board of Control stripped Fury of his licence in October, pending “further investigation into antidoping and medical issues”. But Warren believes he should be cleared to box again should UKAD delay their hearing until the middle of autumn. He added: “If they chuck it out, he’s on the card on July 8. It’s very frustrating.”
