ANT and Dec are desperate to have Danny Dyer appear on the next series of Saturday Night Takeaway.

The Geordie boys have said they are eyeing up the EastEnders star to appear as part of their “Get Me Out Of Your Ear” game.

The popular hidden camera segment sees Ant and Dec telling celebrities what to do to unwitting members of the public via a hidden earpiece.

They believe the Cockney hardman would be a huge hit with viewers and help boost the primetime show’s already sky-high ratings even further.

The duo said: “We’ve got a few celebs in our sights for under cover. We would love Danny Dyer.”

But last night a Beeb spokeswoman dismissed any chance of Danny joining Saturday Night Takeaway.

Meltdown

And Danny’s agent added: “I can categorically state that no approach has been made for Danny in connection with the next series of Saturday Night Takeaway or any segment associated with the show.”

Dyer, 39, who plays Queen Vic boss Mick Carter, recently returned to Albert Square after taking time off for exhaustion. BBC bosses made the decision to temporarily write him out of the soap in February following claims he had a “meltdown” at the boozy National Television Awards.

I’m A Celebrity queen Scarlett Moffatt proved popular with viewers when she joined Saturday Night Takeaway earlier this year.
