‘Decor spells trouble’
THE Big Brother house has been transformed into a “perfect English village” for the new series that starts next week.
Producers promise a “culture clash of modern Britain” while experts have warned of a bitter class war.
BIG Brother is set to spark a class war among housemates – by setting poor housemates against the rich ones.
Experts warn that the English village theme will be far from peaceful country living for those taking part.
Producers have promised a “culture clash of modern Britain” on the new BB series which starts next week.
The living area is decked out with stone-look sofas, floral cushions, faux shop windows and even some ® ornamental rugs, all festooned with British flags and flower garlands.
The garden has a pagoda, neatly-trimmed hedges and an ornate hot tub – complete with fake ducks – all set against a country backdrop.
Pictures have been released with a posh bedroom and a scruffy one – suggesting the housemates will be segregated into “haves” and “have-nots”.
And social behaviour expert Judi James reckons the decor will spell trouble.
She said: “This house has got touches of class to it.
“There is a quaint look, like a village. The garden is like Pippa Middleton’s wedding.
“You’ve got the arched windows, the little veranda, the lawn. It looks incredibly upper class.
“It could start class divisions if there are posh housemates. For the first time in years it could kick off into a class war.
“It’s amazing how those sorts of resentments could surface quite quickly.”
Big Brother returns to our screens with a live launch show on Monday at 8.30pm on Channel 5.
Reports have claimed that viewers will get to vote in housemates in an election-themed twist.
