THE world’s fattest child has undergone life-saving surgery to stop him eating himself to death.

Greedy Arya Permana weighed 30 stone at the age of 11 because his mum would not stop feeding him.

He grew so fat that he could hardly walk and had to wear a sarong because his parents could no longer find any clothes to fit him.

But now he has became the youngest person to undergo a gastric sleeve procedure to curb his monster appetite.

And just a month after the five-hour operation – during which doctors removed a large portion of his stomach – he has lost nearly 5st.

Before the op, Arya weighed the same as six boys his age and struggled to walk.

He had to stop going to school and lay at home guzzling down fried chicken, rice, noodles and chocolate ice cream every day.

Arya, from Karawang, Indonesia, said: “I felt like I wanted to eat all the time. When mum cooked I always waited for it.”

Warnings

The boy’s huge girth led to him having serious health problems, including suffering from shortness of breath.

He was forced to sleep with his head against a wall to help him breathe, leaving his forehead continually bruised.

But despite warnings from doctors, Arya’s doting parents gave in to his continual demands for food.

Dad Ade said: “He ate like he had no sense of being full.

“Every time he had two packets of noodles and two eggs, more than half a kilo of chicken and then rice.

“That could have been four to six times a day.

“The saddest thing was watching Arya trying to get up. He would get out of breath just walking five metres. We were very worried.”

Mum Rokayah admitted: “I am the one the most to blame. I regret it because it is my fault.

“I didn’t control how much I fed him. I keep feeding Arya because I love my child.”

Arya is now on a strict low-fat diet and exercise programme to get the weight off.

World’s Heaviest Child: Extraordinary People is on today at 10pm on Channel 5.
