A HAPLESS holidaymaker turned up at the airport with his dad’s old passport – then got on a plane to the wrong Greek island.

Bungling Nathan Webb planned to meet his mates in Corfu for a lads’ holiday but ended up more than 560 miles away in Kos.

And puzzled taxi drivers were left scratching their heads when he asked them to take him to Kavos Plaza.

The penny only dropped after 22-year-old Nathan rang his chums and they told him: “We’re on the beach in Corfu – not Kos.”

Mistake

His problems started when he arrived at Stansted Airport and discovered he had taken his dad Kevin’s passport by mistake.

After a panicked 4.15am phone call home, postman Kevin, 47, drove from Sheringham, Norfolk, with Nathan’s passport.

But by then his mates had left on the booked 6.20am flight.

Nathan said: “I explained the situation at the Jet2 desk and asked for flights to Kavos, the resort where we were staying on Corfu.

“At first the girl said there wasn’t one, then she said there was one available and gave me a ticket to Kos.

“I’d been up since the day before and I just sort of presumed it would be fine.

“I only realised once I got there that I was in the wrong place. When I asked taxi drivers to take me to Kavos Plaza I was met by stunned silence.”

Nathan had to fork out another £300 for a night in a hotel and new flight tickets to Corfu.

It meant he missed two days of the week-long holiday. But he said: “I can see the funny side now.”

A spokesman for Jet2 confirmed they would not be giving Nathan a refund, adding: “This was an unfortunate mistake.

“When he got his flight confirmed it would have said Kos not Corfu.”
