A EUROPEAN RAM RAID

- Charlie McCann

THE final of the Champions League from Cardiff tonight brings the curtain down on European football this season.

Both sides are playing a record sixth Champions League Final (alongside Milan) but I just feel Real Madrid will become the first side to retain the Champions League in what I expect to be a tight, tense affair.

Juventus go into the game unbeaten in the competition so far this season and the goal they conceded to Monaco in the semi-final second leg was the first time their defence had been breached in 689 minutes.

However, the Turin side are anything but a defensive team– it is just that defending is their forte.

Real are marginal 5-6 favourites to lift the trophy, and 8-5 to beat Juventus inside the 90.

Meanwhile, The Old Lady are even-money with BetVictor to win just a third European Cup and 19-10 to beat Real without the need for extra-time or penalties.

A draw after 90 minutes can be taken at 9-4

The sides have met before in a European Final in 1998 in Amsterdam.

On that occasion, a sole Real Madrid goal, which was scored by Yugoslavia striker Predrag Mijatovic, was enough to give the Whites success in Amsterdam.

I mention this as I feel one goal might be enough again in Cardiff and that one of the Madrid superstars might be the difference.

BetVictor are offering 3-1 that Real beat Juve to nil. And you can plump for an even more tempting 6-1 for the Spaniards to win by the 1-0 correct score in the Welsh capital. Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos have both scored in two previous Champions League Finals and it is the latter, always a man for the big occasion, who I feel might be the difference between the sides on this occasion.

Ramos is 20-1 to break the deadlock tonight and 6-1 with BetVictor to net anytime against the Italians.

BetVictor have a number of #PriceItUp markets where punters can request their own odds and our most popular bet thus far is 11-2 for Ronaldo to score and Ramos to be carded in the Champions League final.
