Shocking new plot twist

THE harrowing Coronation Street grooming story is set to get even darker, its main star has warned.

Lucy Fallon revealed that evil Nathan Curtis will try to sell her character Bethany Platt to perverts in another country.

Nathan, played by Chris Harper, was arrested in last Friday’s episode of the ITV soap after Bethany’s family went to the police.

But following his release this week because of a lack of evidence, he continues to manipulate the vulnerable schoolgirl, who he got engaged to.

Fans will see him tell Bethany to lie to her family that their relationship has ended and to grab her passport.

The delusional 16-year-old thinks she is going to move away with him but the truth ® is that Nathan wants to sell her in a foreign country. The latest twist in the plot follows 13 complaints made to Ofcom when scenes of Bethany about to be gang-raped were shown in last Thursday’s episode. Lucy, 21, left, told ITV’s This Morning yesterday: “Nathan is telling her to get a passport and he’s going to take her away. “For Bethany, that’s quite exciting. But really what he wants to do is sell her in another country.” She added: “I think obviously that’s quite a shocking turn in the story, but for viewers I think it’s important to keep watching the story because they will get their comeuppance eventually. They have to.”
