He was a Pakistan-born former Kentucky Fried Chicken worker who walked with a limp.
Bizarrely he twice tried to set up his own cosmetic company but the attempts never got off the ground. Butt, a married dad-of-two – nicknamed “Abz” – wore posh designer RayBan sunglasses in Channel 4 documentary The Jihadis Next Door last year.
He was filmed unfurling an Islamic State flag in Regent’s Park and was twice reported to police for his beliefs.

Redouane he called fellow Muslims without beards non-believers and refused to speak to women.
Butt starred in the documentary alongside hate preacher Mohammed Shamsuddin and Abu Haleema, who was accused of radicalising a Brit schoolboy convicted over a plot to behead police during an Anzac Day parade in Australia.
There is no suggestion Shamsuddin or Haleema are connected to Saturday’s attack.
Butt, a football fan, was pictured lying dead in an Arsenal shirt after being shot by police in Borough Market.
One of his accomplices was last night named as chef Rachid Redouane, 30. He sometimes used the surname Elkhdar.
He is believed to have been living with his Scottish wife in Dublin.
Counter terror officers were last night trying to confirm the name of the third gang member.
They were also still quizzing six women and four men arrested in raids on six houses on suspicion of helping the terror trio. Although police admitted they knew of Butt, a spokesman said there was “no intelligence to suggest that this attack was being planned”.
Met Police Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley said: “I would urge anyone with information about these men, their movements in the days and hours before the attack and the places they frequented to come forward to police.”
