TERRORIST Khuram Butt menacingly glares at the camera while carrying a toy gun in this shocking picture.

The fanatic, who masterminded Saturday night’s attack which left eight dead, was at an 18th birthday party at a bowling alley in London about 10 years ago.

Butt’s family yesterday condemned the attack, saying they were “shocked and appalled” by his killing spree.

In a statement they said: “As a family we are shocked and appalled by the actions of Khuram and his associates. We strongly condemn these actions.

“Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with the victims and families at this time.” KILLERS: Youssef Zaghba, Khuram Butt and Rachid Redouane

EIGHTEEN chances were missed to stop the London Bridge terror gang’s deadly rampage, it was last night revealed.

Police officers, MI5 and UK border forces all had opportunities to tackle the three jihadis.

And the fanatics had all been reported by their own mothers – concerned about changes in their sons’ behaviour.

Moroccans Rachid Redouane, 30, and Youssef Zaghba, 22, could have been prevented from entering the UK, while ringleader Khuram Butt, 27, was free to strike despite flaunting his extremist views in the ® Channel 4 TV documentary The Jihadis Next Door.

Failed asylum seeker Redouane, 30, was not deported despite being caught with a fake passport and living illegally under a false name.

He married a Brit to secure his right to remain.

Zaghba, 22, was waved through at Stansted Airport in January despite Italian police flagging him as a potential jihadi after he was caught trying to fly to Syria, telling officers: “I’m going to be a terrorist.’’

Friends reported Butt to the anti-terror hotline at least three times for extremist behaviour.
