DAD TAKES GIRL’S PHOTO EVERY DAY FOR 21 YEARS
PROUD Munish Bansal has taken photos of his daughter every day since she was born 21 years ago.
And now he has prepared a huge montage from all 7,760 of his snaps as a 21st birthday gift.
Munish started taking snaps of Suman when she was a newborn to send to his family in India.
But the daily shots quickly turned into a hobby.
Suman, who is due to graduate as a student nurse this year, was photographed in happy and sad moods, on holiday and while starting school and university.
It became such a habit that she struggled to sleep if she forgot to have a photo taken.
Munish, 44, said: “It started off as just a hobby and so I could see the changes in my children day-to-day.
“I wanted to show my parents in India how they were growing and changing. After that it became a project and you have to be very committed.” He added: “It went on for a few years and I just thought: ‘Why stop now?’.” The dad, from Gillingham, Kent, also edited a home movie from all his pictures. As Suman gets older her eyes stay the same but her hairstyles and fashion come and go. She said: “It’s quite amazing looking back on them all. “I still cannot believe how many there are and that they are all of me. “I’m sure there are loads of pictures I would be embarrassed about – it’s hard to make a kid smile for every photo. “I knew it made my dad happy and allowed family to continue to see me grow.”
