MICROSOFT, Sony and Nintendo may have grabbed most of the headlines at the E3 gaming expo, but that did not stop UK studio Rebellion from crashing the party.

XBOX fans can look out for a tasty treat just in time for Christmas.

The all-new Xbox One X has just been revealed by Microsoft at the E3 gaming show in LA and will be released on November 7.

According to the US technology firm, the Xbox One X is the world’s most powerful console with 40% more grunt than anything currently on the market.

This will make it the ultimate 4K games console but Microsoft also says that older titles will also be improved with better textures, smoother frame rates and faster load times. Xbox One X also offers an improved entertainment package with 4K Ultra HD for Blu-ray X up to battle mummies, monsters and other mythical beings.

Luckily, you’re armed to the teeth with guns, grenades and one or two magical abilities that might save your skin.

Fans of the 2000 AD comic book will also be pleased to hear

that Rogue Trooper and streamed content, HDR support for gaming and video and Dolby Atmos support. Sadly, all this tech does not come cheap with Microsoft confirming a £449 price when it launches – that’s double the cost of the current Xbox One. It certainly sounds expensive but the US firm is confident gamers will not be put off. When asked how Xbox fans would respond to the price, Aaron Greenberg, Redux is shaping up nicely ahead of its 2017 release date on PC and consoles.

The original Rogue Trooper featured cover-based shooting before it was cool and so it is great to see the blue-skinned super soldier return for a new generation of gamers. head of Xbox games marketing said: “We’re proud of the pricing.

“The fact is we designed this to be a premium product that has the most power, the most performance that has ever been seen, no compromises; true 4K gaming.

“Look at something like Forza that is delivering that native 4K, 60 frames per second. That takes an incredibly powerful GPU. That takes a lot of memory. That takes really unique design. So we designed it with no compromises. We did not build this to be a low-price box.

“We built this to be a premium product for people that want the very, very best console games.”

Remarkably, the new Xbox One X is also more compact than the existing Xbox One S, which was already 40% smaller than the original Xbox One console.

The new Xbox One X will arrive in homes with plenty of games ready to play in full 4K quality.

These titles will include Assassin’s Creed Origins, Forza Motorsport 7 and The Last Night.
