WATFORD hope to wrap up a bargain £5.5m deal for Derby midfielder Will Hughes.
Marco Silva wants to make Hughes, 22, his first signing since taking charge at Vicarage Road.
Hughes, who is on duty with England Under-21s at Euro 2017, has long been touted for a Premier League move since bursting onto the scene as a teenager in 2011.
Brighton are also keen on Hughes but Watford are ready to launch a summer signing spree.
German defender Dennis Aogo is expected to join from Schalke and Inter Milan full-back Davide Santon could return to England, just two years after leaving Newcastle.
Silva could also raid old club Hull for midfielders Tom Huddlestone and Kamil Grosicki.
