Barton: I saw mad gambling
JOEY Barton has slammed the FA for “ending his career”.
The ex-Burnley star was banned for 18 months in April for breaching betting rules.
He hit out at the FA for giving him what is effectively a 75-game ban and revealed he plans to appeal on July 20.
Barton said: “I’ve been in dressing rooms with players where they’ve a hundred grand staked on mad stuff.”
Over 12 years Barton, 34, made 1,260 bets in breach of FA rules, with 30 of them on matches involving his own team.
He played in just two of them, backing his side to win in both – and lost.
