I’M PEP-PED UP FOR FIGHT

- By JEREMY CROSS and STEVE MADELEY

PEP GUARDIOLA is on a mission to take down his Premier League rivals next season.

The Manchester City boss is licking his wounds after flopping in his first 12 months at the Etihad.

He won three Spanish titles and two Champions League crowns with Barcelona and conquered the Bundesliga three times with Bayern Munich.

But Guardiola (right) failed to win a trophy in a season for the first time in his managerial career at City.

They finished third in the Premier League and crashed out of the Champions League at the last-16 stage.

The pressure on Guardiola to deliver next season will be huge.

And now he has warned champions Chelsea’s boss Antonio Conte, Manchester United rival Jose Mourinho and Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp that he’s out to show them who is the best. Guardiola insists he is hungrier than ever to succeed and reclaim his title as the ‘Godfather’ of managers. The Spaniard, 46, said: “Teams every year are better than the year before but we will be better next season.” He has spent almost £80m on new signings Bernardo Silva and Ederson and is also hoping to land Dani Alves, Alexis Sanchez and Kyle Walker. And he admits he is itching to get back to work, adding: “I know always when you win, you are a god and it’s good. “But if you don’t win, you enjoy dealing with staff and players and imagining new games. “The beautiful thing is being there to have fun.”
