A MANIAC with a machete sparked terror fears before a Justin Bieber concert yesterday.
Security guards and police swooped on the man in his car as 40,000 young pop fans gathered for the Canadian heart-throb’s show.
Dramatic footage of the incident shows passers-by trying to help officers to detain the man after they dragged him out of his vehicle.
A foot-long blade was removed from the car just 500 yards from Cardiff ’s Millennium Stadium.
Another man was also arrested at the scene.
Security services were already on high alert after the Ariana Grande bombing atrocity in Manchester on May 22, which killed 23 people, including children.
One witness said: “There was lots of screaming and shouting. I saw a guy get arrested and the police officer holding a knife – it was massive.
“It was very scary after what happened at the Ariana Grande concert.”
A manager at the nearby Viva Brazil bar and restaurant, who didn’t want to be named, said: “It was all over very quickly. Thankfully no-one was hurt.”
Police later revealed they had arrested two men, aged 19 and 27, over a motoring dispute and they were being quizzed on suspicion of affray and using threatening behaviour.
They confirmed it was not terror-related or anything to do with the Bieber concert.
