ONYE MARKS FOR EVERTON
EVERTON have confirmed the £7m signing of Nigerian striker Henry Onyekuru as their summer spending spree continues.
Onyekuru (below) has signed a five-year deal after leading the scoring charts in Belgium with 22 goals for Eupen last season.
The 20-year-old will spend next season on loan at Belgium champions Anderlecht.
He becomes Everton’s third signing of the summer, following the arrivals of goalkeeper Jordan Pickford from Sunderland for £30m and the £23.6m capture of midfielder Davy Klaassen from Ajax.
Everton are closing in on a £25m deal for Burnley defender Michael Keane and hope to complete the signing over the weekend.
Sandro Ramirez’s £5.1m deal from Malaga should be completed next week as the Spain striker has had a medical and agreed personal terms.
Toffees boss Ronald Koeman will then look to sign Gylfi Sigurdsson from Swansea, but faces a battle to land the Iceland attacking midfielder as the Welsh club want £40m.
Koeman also wants to bring in another striker before the transfer window closes.
Barcelona last night re-signed Gerard Deulofeu after exercising a £10.4m buy-back clause in the deal that saw him join Everton in 2015 for £4.2m. The Spanish winger, who was signed by former Everton boss Roberto Martinez, spent the second half of last season on loan at AC Milan after failing to impress Koeman.
