THIS is the first picture of the Brit woman who died after being allegedly battered by ex-professional wrestler Jimmy Breaks.

Donna Cowley passed away in hospital after she was found bleeding in the bath at her home on the Spanish island of Gran Canaria.

Her ex-partner, 80-year-old former British and European lightweight champion Breaks, was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and resisting arrest.

Three-times-wed Breaks, who retired to the Canary Islands after a 28-year career in which he won 32 wrestling titles, has been held in custody pending the outcome of a post-mortem to determine how his ex died.

Injuries

Police were called to 47-year-old Donna’s home in the resort of Mogán at 12.45am on Friday.

Donna was taken first to a health centre and then hospital where she died as medics were beginning to take x-rays of her injuries.

A Guardia Civil spokesman said: “It has not yet been possible to determine the exact cause of her death.’’

Bradford-born Breaks held the British Lightweight wrestling championship for four years after defeating

HOSPITAL DEATH: Donna Cowley Melwyn Rees in 1963. He went on to win the belt a further nine times before finally surrendering it in a defeat to Steve Grey in 1984.

Breaks became a TV regular when wrestling reached record audiences.

He was nicknamed Cry Baby because of his habit of throwing tantrums and rowing with refs. Crowds threw babies’ dummies at him.

Pal Steven Tempest-Mitchell, 59, whose dad Dennis was a fellow professional wrestler, said: “He’s a nice guy who you’d like to have a pint with.’’

Donna’s pal Samantha Way wrote on Facebook: “Donna, you were put through so many challenges in life and to end this way I am truly sickened.”
