NOT ALL THE ACES

You’re a top PokerStars Team Pro. It’s an hour into the WSOP Main Event. On the feature table and dealt pocket Aces, you flop a set, which becomes Aces full. What could possibly go wrong? Revisit the WSOP’s biggest ouch here: http://tinyurl.com/PainInAAs

NEWBIE: 3BET BLUFFING

You don’t need a strong hand to three-bet. Some of your three-bets will be semi-bluffs. If you land a decent suited connector, like Jack-Tens of Hearts or Ten-Nine of Spades, you could dump, call, or pump these cards, depending on the opponent you face and their position. It’s a hand that has playability if you have position against a fairly offensive player raising from the second half of the table….

RE-RAISE PAYS

…Rather than passively calling, letting your opponent keep the initiative, and relying on the flop cards to save you, you could instead re-raise. You never know -- this can be enough to get some opponents to fold stronger cards like King-Queen offsuit or Ace-Ten! If he calls, you’ve still got the initiative and can continue to represent a big hand on the flop. With your suited connectors, you could also match up with the flop big time and be in with the chance of busting the better hand he just called with. This sort of play can give your opponents nightmares! (http://tinyurl.com/3bBluffs)
