BLAZIN’S FIRE STILL BURNING

- ■ by JOE COSHAN

POP band Blazin’ Squad will reunite and take on the charts when Marcel Somerville comes out of Love Island.

The noughties group have been bombarded with offers to go on tour and release new material.

Love Island fans have been going wild for the band since member Marcel, aka Rocky B, entered the villa on the show.

The 31-year-old made a name for himself on the ITV2 series by telling fellow islanders: “I was in the Blazin’ Squad.”

Spotify listens of the hip-hop group have also soared by 2,500%.

The band of 10 lads currently have five appearance gigs booked from August to November. But Chris Mckeckney, aka Melo-D, and Oliver Georgiou, aka Freek, reckon they can pack their diary up to a full tour.

Chris said: “If we can make it happen, then we will. It has to be done in the right way but we’re not against it.

“I think the first thing is, we’ve been doing a few shows, so to up that to a tour would be the first point of call.

“We can see how that goes, then who knows, releasing new music wouldn’t be off the table either.”

The pair said the only setback from officially confirming a reunion is because of attempts to get all 10 members together.

They revealed that the reunion may not be a full squad.

Oliver added: “There are talks and offers but we have to wait and see about Marcel’s time in the villa and have a chat. There are a lot of diaries to consider.”
