ANYTHING Harry Styles can do, Joe McElderry can do better!
The former X Factor winner wants a Hollywood career after treading the boards of musicals.
Joe told me: “There was talks before about possibly doing a film and getting into acting a bit more but I’ve been so busy.
“I would really love to be in a film, after being on stage for Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. I now have the confidence with acting and it’s opened up a whole new world of performing.”
And the South Shields-born singer knows the part he’s after – Danny in new “modern Grease”. He revealed: “I would love to be in a re-make of Grease, a real modern version, a brand new storyline, something for our generation that has the same effect that Grease had all them years ago.
“I wish there was a modernised version of it, that would be fun to be a part of and now I believe I have the ability.”
Well, Joe already has the quiff and he proves his love for musicals in new album Saturday Night At The Movies, which is packed with iconic stage songs.
He gushed: “They are songs you can put on in your car and just belt out.”
Joe may hope to follow in fellow X Factor star Harry’s Hollywood shoes but he has little contact with anyone from the show.
He spilled: “We are all very busy, Cheryl’s just had a baby so she’s twice as busy. If we see each other we have a chat but it’s not like we have a WhatsApp group!
“I’ve not met the baby, I don’t even have time to go home right now let alone meet new babies!”
His first album in three years is out now.
