Froome's Tour de Fource

- by PAUL DONNELLEY

CYCLING hero Chris Froome won the Tour De France for a fourth time in five years yesterday.

The British hero sipped on a glass of champagne as he took part in the traditional procession into Paris. Froome had a big grin on his face as he completed the 103km final stage of the gruelling race. Incredibly, the 32-year-old rider had been booed on Saturday by the French crowd inside the Stade Velodrome in Marseille. The French had wanted local Romain Bardet to win, but all Froome had to do was cross the line yesterday to seal victory. Froome is now just one off the record of five titles held by Eddy Merckx, Jacques Anquetil, Bernard Hinault and Miguel Indurain.
