NEW Brit golf star Alfie Plant had the internet in stitches last night when it was revealed his girlfriend is called Daisy Meadows.
Alfie, who used to be a postman, has seen his career blossom as he won the silver medal at The Open as the best amateur.
But, while he was the leading nonprofessional at Royal Birkdale, it was his romantic life that was creating waves.
The 25-year-old told an interviewer on the course when asked about his love life: “Yeah, Daisy Meadows.
“Will draw a few chuckles at the church if things go as planned.
“All the girls out there, I end up with a Daisy. What’s the chances?”
If Alfie had been a professional, he would have earned a whopping £20,000 at The Open. Asked how he could have spent that money, Millwall fan Plant said: “If you ask my girlfriend, she would definitely say a ring.”
The internet was delighted by the name, with fans taking to Twitter. Brantley Romaine said: “From the you-can’t-makethis-stuff-up department: Alfie Plant’s girlfriend’s name is Daisy Meadows.”
