BRITISH women are the Patsys and Edinas of Europe as their Ab Fab lifestyles lead them to die sooner.

Binge-drinking and smoking like stars of the hit BBC sitcom is sending our females into an early grave.

Shock figures show only women in Denmark have a shorter life expectancy.

British women can expect to live until 82 and nine months on average, compared to 85 years and nine months in Spain.

Even women in recession-hit Greece and poverty-stricken Slovenia live longer according to a new health league table.

Cancer, chronic respiratory diseases, dementia and cirrhosis of the liver are all causing British women to die sooner.

Over-eating also has a knock-on effect on their lifespan, according to a hard-hitting report from Public Health England.

Professor Sir Ian Gilmore, of the Alcohol Health Alliance, said: “Drinking a bottle of wine a week will increase a woman’s risk of breast cancer by about 10%.

“But awareness of the general link between alcohol and common cancers is poorly understood.” British men are mid-table in the European poll and can expect to live 79 years and two months – well above average. WOMEN’S life expectancy across Europe:

82 years, 8 months 82 years, 9 months years, 1 month years, 2 months years, 5 months 83 years, 5 months 83 years, 8 months 8 months 84 years 0 months years, 1 month
