HARRY KANE believes the bright young things at White Hart Lane can save Tottenham a fortune.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has blasted the “unsustaina­ble” spending of their title rivals, with Mauricio Pochettino the only Premier League boss not to make a signing this summer.

And while Levy is ready to sanction a move for Everton midfielder Ross Barkley, he says the glut of kids coming through their academy means Pochettino won’t have to try to match the big spenders.

Kane, who rose through the ranks at Spurs, reckons academy products like Cameron CarterVick­ers, Josh Onomah, Kyle Walker-Peters and Anthony Georgiou will be boosted by Levy’s words.

He said: “It helps them to hear that. It would have helped me to have that confidence from the chairman, the belief from him that they don’t need to buy other players.

“It’s the perfect situation. The from STEVE BRENNER in New York young lads are there to make a chance and do the best they can. They are settling in great and are trying to express themselves. We haveagreat­academy system at Spurs and anyone who comes up knows how we play, so they fit in very well.

“Are they ready? That’s down to the gaffer. But he has always had the philosophy that if you’re good enough to play, you will play.

“So it’s down to the young lads to push in training and work as hard as they can, like I did when I was coming through.

“It’s about working hard and if they get that opportunit­y being ready to take it.”

Pochettino insists he is not envious at the spending by his Premier League rivals.
