I escaped the hell of being an ISIS bride

RAQQA TERROR ORDEAL

- By KATE NELSON kate.nelson@dailystar.co.uk

AN Islamic State bride who escaped the terror group has given a horrifying account of life in the “Little Britain” district of Raqqa.

Islam Mitat fled after being tricked into joining the massacring tribe by her British husband. She described bodies hanging in the streets of Raqqa, Syria, as UK teens squabbled over stolen clothes. Student Islam, 23, was taken to Syria aged 20 from Turkey by husband Ahmed. He became a fighter but was killed, leaving her widowed. She managed to escape the regime with the help of her neighbours by pretending she was going to a wedding outside of the city. The mum-of-two told how sick Brits lived near each other in the so-called “Little Britain” area of Raqqa to watch videos of terror attacks across Europe.

She added: “They looked happy about it. I was shocked.”

Islam claimed to have shared tea with former punk singer Sally Jones, the socalled White Widow from Kent, and met “terror twins” Zahra and Salma Halane, from Manchester, as well as other teen brides from Bristol and Glasgow.

The Moroccan-born mum revealed how two of the Bethnal Green schoolgirls who escaped to marry Isis fighters disappeared after the third, Kadiza Sultana, was killed in an airstrike.

Islam now lives in a safe house in Syria but is desperate to move to Europe with son Abdullah and daughter Maria. She said: “I never supported Isis. I just want to live again.”
