NIGHTMARE OF THE UK’S SPICE ZOMBIES
Addicts scream and slump over
“ZOMBIES” high on highly-addictive Spice have been videoed screaming and groaning in a city centre.
Passers-by with young children can be seen looking on as the drugged-up men struggle to stand.
Witness Ray McKenzie shot the video in Nottingham, with one clip showing users of the synthetic drug staring blankly at the sky.
The shocking footage was posted to Facebook and has since gone viral.
Ray said: “It is so bad. These people are acting like they are possessed. They were total zombies.
“I couldn’t believe my eyes. Someone needs to help these people and get them off the streets.”
He added: “Children are seeing them in this state and it’s not right.
“I’ve shared the videos to show the size of the problem. I want to get the word out there that these drugs are not the answer.
“These men were slumped and couldn’t walk or talk. It was really nasty.”
Spice, dubbed “fake ® weed”, has seen hundreds of people suffering psychotic episodes, vomiting and seizures.
The withdrawal effects of the marijuana substitute are said to be worse than coming off crack cocaine or heroin.
Police warn that Spice use is reaching epidemic proportions among homeless people across the UK.
Officers have reported a huge spike in the number of call-outs involving the drug.
