PEP GUARDIOLA is still looking to bolster his Manchester City squad – despite his £210m summer spending spree.

Guardiola saw City chalk up their third pre-season win yesterday with a routine 3-0 victory over West Ham in the Icelandic capital Reykjavik.

But Guardiola is still not content and is searching for new players before the transfer window closes.

He said: “We have a lot of players with a lot of quality and I am so grateful for what the club has done.

“Last season we were the oldest team in the Premier League but we have made the team younger by buying players like Ederson, Danilo, Bernardo Silva and Benjamin Mendy.

“But I still think we need a little bit more. The transfer window doesn’t close till August 31, so we will see.”

Guardiola warned his stars they will have to stay on their toes to start in City’s Premier League opener at Brighton next Saturday.

Fight

He said: “I have confidence in the players but I still have one week to think about it.

“I’m happy with the way they work but they have to show me this every day. We want to fight in every game.

“We have had four good games. We played well, we won three of the games and we created more chances than our opponents.

“We are quite satisfied but the reality starts now. We have to do that under pressure.”

City took time to adapt to the new style Guardiola wanted last season.

His players look to have now taken his approach on board, stepping up preparations for the big kick-off with goals from Gabriel Jesus, Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling against the Hammers.

Guardiola added: “It was a good result against a Premier League team. Everyone played to a good level, our strikers scored and there were no injuries. We are happy.”
