The pictures of the EastEnders star, 40, sparked wild speculation that he could rekindle the relationship with long-suffering Joanne Mas, 40.
In one snap they looked like the perfect couple as they laughed and joked in front of a gazebo.
A source said: “They looked so happy together. You wouldn’t think they weren’t a couple any more. Everyone’s hoping that they will get back together.
“They’ve known each other since they were 14.”
The couple, who have three kids together, split earlier this year following a string of tales about Danny’s alleged affairs.
This came shortly after the Daily Star exclusively revealed that the actor had moved out of the family home and was staying in a hotel.
Before he found fame, the pair were teenage sweethearts, with Joanne supporting Danny financially while he was a jobbing actor. But as he landed bigger roles, allegations of his infidelities started to emerge.
Joanne stood by him and the pair even married in 2015. Meanwhile, BBC bosses denied claims that Danny will not sign a new contract and say he will carry on playing Old Vic landlord Mick Carter.
Dyer was filmed talking to fans in Essex, who asked him if he was leaving the soap.
He told them: “This takes up my life, this does. I ain’t signed yet. I’m meant to sign in October but I might elbow it.”
However, a BBC spokesman said: “We never discuss artists’ contracts, but we can confirm that Danny will be staying with EastEnders. Danny was making a flippant comment after being put on the spot.”
