MILLER’S A THRILLER!

-

JACOB MILLER returned to action with a real vengeance to throw the top-four race wide open again.

But Trinity look like a class side again with Miller now back pulling the strings.

And they are right back in the hunt for a semi-final spot after this victory.

Shocker

They are up to fourth while second-placed Leeds have lost some of their breathing space and are now looking over their shoulders.

The Rhinos’ defeat also means leaders Castleford can seal the League Leaders’ Shield tonight if they beat Salford away.

Trinity coach Chris Chester had demanded a huge response after last week’s shocker against Huddersfield – and he got it from all of his players.

His side flew out of the blocks with a try after four minutes from Joe Arundel, following a break by Miller.

Leeds hit back minutes later when Danny McGuire’s cute grubber kick was grounded by prop Adam Cuthbertson.

But Wakefield still had Chester’s stinging warning ringing in their ears and weren’t about to gift Leeds any more openings.

They left Leeds reeling with two tries in two minutes from Ben Jones-Bishop and Scott Grix, after more fine work by Kyle Wood.

Miller also pounced on the first half hooter for another try after Kallum Watkins and McGuire flapped at a Liam Finn kick.

Finn converted all four tries and kicked a penalty for a 26-6 lead and Trinity continued to go for the Rhinos’ throats after the half-time break.

Ferocity

Matty Ashurst touched down when Ash Golding lost possession near the Leeds line under the ferocity of Wakefield’s non-stop tackling.

Bill Tupou also scored but the win came at a cost to Wakefield with Arundel suffering a dislocated elbow.
